Casado will propose a tax cut of 10,000 million

The leader of the PP, Pablo Casado, will present a tax cut of more than 10,000 million euros in the processing of the General Budgets and believes that time should not be wasted "looking at our navel", alluding to the request of the Madrid president , Isabel Díaz Ayuso, to bring forward the Madrid party congress.

In an interview with El Confidencial, Casado bets on an economic competitiveness plan, within which he frames that tax cut that justifies "removing it from unproductive spending." "Both the CEOE and the Institute of Economic Studies have defended that up to 60,000 million euros can be lowered without touching Health, without touching Education, without touching social policies. Simply because it is being wasted," adds the opposition leader. .

Thus, Casado proposes lowering personal income tax, which "would mean paying 4,000 million less"; eliminate the wealth tax -which "would have a cost of 1,400 million"-; remove that of successions and donations, which "would add 2,700 million savings", and that of property transfers for the purchase of habitual residence, "which would have an impact of 600 million".

In fifth place, he is committed to putting an end to the bureaucratic fees that "hinder job creation"; lower corporate tax by 50% for companies established in municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants -at a cost of some 500 million euros- and, lastly, reduce social contributions for young people or long-term workers , which would add "another 2,000 million".

On the other hand, he affirms that the party congress in Madrid has not yet been convened, as requested by the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, because provincial congresses are being held, and adds that "people do not care about the internal issues of the parties ", in which time should not be wasted "looking at our navel". "Whoever wants to" can present himself at the Madrid congress and whoever wins will have his support, he underlines.

Regarding an alleged operation by the PP leadership so that Ayuso is not a candidate in 2023, he says that "no one has bet more" on her than he himself and that he is glad he did so "because he is doing extraordinary government work" .
