Light for the province: two jewels by Ramón León for San José

The image of San José, the work of the Martínez Cava brothers, is already in your home. After its blessing in the Cathedral and after being exposed in the choir of the first temple of the Diocese, the image of the man who has been named custodian and protector of the province of Almería is now in the convent of the Slaves of the Blessed Sacrament.

And he is not alone: since last week, Saint Joseph has been accompanied by two lamps that carry two candles that will always illuminate the saint, watching over the province of Almería.

The lamps, two gold and silver jewels made by Sevillian Ramón León, include details such as the coat of arms of the city, the province or the coat of arms of Pope Francis.

Last Thursday, the lighting of the lamps of San José was held, an act in which the president of the Provincial Council, Javier A. García, and the provincial deputies of the Presidency, b>Fernando Giménez, and Economic Development, Carmen Navarro, who delivered the candles that will carry the San José lamps.

Javier A. García highlighted the importance of the “symbolism” of light that “illuminates us in the most difficult moments, teaches us the right path and guides us morally and spiritually; as San José already does, protector of the province of Almería thanks to your drive, your faith and self-sacrificing work of which we feel proud”.

He expressed his gratitude “and that of the Government of the province, to Providentia for having made us participants in this exciting project that is a valuable example of social union in favor of a common cause motivated by faith ”.

He also wished that "Saint Joseph would watch over all of us and guide us to overcome all these challenges that we face with determination as the Gospel of Saint John says: In Him was life, and life was the light of men.” The light of God will always illuminate our lives.
