Woman Almost Throws A $2.7 Million Diamond In The Trash; she thought it was a “trinket”

A 70-year-old woman from the United Kingdom decided to clean her home and throw away everything she had bought for decades in markets, during her work she found a precious stone the size of a two peso coin which she almost threw in the trash when considering it a "trinket", but that it was actually a diamond of 2.7 million dollars.

The case was reported in Northumberland, England, where the woman found the stone, which she decided to take to a local auction house for examination. Without hope and thinking that it was an imitation, the lady was pleasantly surprised when she was informed that her “trinket” was a 34-carat diamond.

Given the discovery, the diamond was sent to Antwerp, Belgium, to be certified by the Diamond Grading Laboratory. The object was given the label of "Secret Stone" due to the story of how it was discovered.

Now, the 70-year-old woman will see on November 30 at noon how that "trinket" that she was going to throw away is auctioned. The event will be held at the Featonby house, London, and in which she could obtain more money than the 2.7 million dollars that the jewel is currently valued.
