UNITED STATES-. Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of slain journalist Jamal Khashoggi, asked Justin Bieber in an op-ed to withdraw from a scheduled performance in Saudi Arabia to support "the cause of human rights" in the Middle Eastern country. The artist will perform on December 5 in Jiddah at the Formula One Grand Prix alongside A$AP Rocky, Jason Derulo, David Guetta and Tiësto.
Cengiz was engaged to be married to Khashoggi, a journalist and contributing columnist for the Washington Post, when he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018 and was never seen again. The writer went to the outlet to write an op-ed in which she addresses Bieber: "That's why I'm writing to you with a plea: cancel his performance on December 5 in Saudi Arabia."
