Marujita's costume is sold

JESUS MANUEL RUIZ

Since last Tuesday, the clothing with which Maruja Díaz shone on stage has been presented at the David Cuevas and Jorge Molina jewelry store on Madrid's Hermosilla street. There, you can become the new owner of one or several pieces of the actress's wardrobe.

That was his last will: that his artistic costumes be sold through his great friends, David and Jorge, and that the proceeds go to Mensajeros de La Paz, an association directed by Father Ángel. A year and a half after his goodbye, his dream comes true.

What you can buy

The material that has been put up for sale consists of more than 50 dresses and 200 accessories and prices range between 50 and 1,300 euros. From early Tuesday afternoon, when the news broke, the public began calling the jewelry store to reserve certain items. Those interested came from all parts of our country.

A day later, a man from Asturias reserved the costume that the artist used to give life to Eugenia de Montijo. This dress is one of the most expensive of all those that have gone on sale. The price that this man is willing to pay is 1,250 euros.

Corazón has spoken with the organizers of the exhibition and direct sale of the clothing and they assure that, if everything were managed to be dispatched, the amount of 25,000 euros could be reached, which would be a blessing for all the projects carried out by Father Ángel.

Marujita's wardrobe for sale

Maruja Díaz left us on June 23, 2015, after a long illness that she never wanted to make public, because her motto was that life had come to make people laugh and not make people cry. When the disease placed her in an extreme situation, she retired to her Madrid chalet in Piedras Negras, in the sought-after urbanization of Mirasierra.

Real Estate

After his death, he left a great legacy that would pass to his only niece, Reyes Gomaiz, daughter of his sister, Emilia. Díaz had garnered a large heritage in jewelry, real estate, and personal and artistic clothing.

The artistic one is the one that has been made available to the public. The staff has passed to its universal heir. Apart from the habitual residence in Mirasierra, he had two important penthouses in the Ríos Rosas area (Madrid), valued at around 450,000 euros each. These penthouses were already in the name of the heiress before Marujita's death.

The villa in Piedras Negras would be close to a million euros. Maruja parted with the real estate located on the Costa del Sol before her death for a single reason: she was aware of the amount of inheritance tax in Andalusia and did not want to cause any problems for Reyes.

As for her jewels, the most important ones were sold while she was alive. The rest were exposed for sale in the same jewelry store where their dresses are displayed. Some of Maruja's pieces were valued at more than 120,000 euros. One of the most valued was the bracelet that Espartaco Santoni gave him in his marriage proposal. A good part of his pieces were appraised in a jewelry store located on the outskirts of the Plaza Mayor.
