We are used to seeing millionaires surrounded by luxury, with their spectacular mansions, high-end cars or clothes from the best brands, but this reality has nothing to do with what London millionaire Roc Sandford lives with.

Although Sandford came from a privileged family in England, the man made his own fortune in the property market. However, Roc left his life of luxury behind, to live humbly and fight against climate change, on a small Scottish island, Geometra.

That is where he lives now, in conditions that his ancestors could not even imagine. Sandford lives quietly in a house that was abandoned 160 years ago, without water or electricity bills, without heating, without facilities such as a washing machine, and with hardly any people to interact with. Such is his isolation from the world that Sandford has confessed that he can sometimes spend weeks without meeting anyone.

To this day, Sandford says he raises 300 sheep and grows much of his own food, since he follows a vegan diet: “In Geometra we have to do everything ourselves, but it's quite fun and challenging. It provides a lot of satisfaction”, he explained to The Scotsman. Also, with no heating or washing machines, Sandford battles the Atlantic cold, wearing multiple layers, washing his clothes in a bucket.

The climate activist has also defended his mission not to use fuels: "I am affected by the immense suffering and unimaginable disasters that these emergencies are cooking for us, that the extinction rebellion and the ocean rebellion are striving to avoid," he explained to The Sun , confessing his intention for Geometra to become carbon neutral, in the next four years.

Sandford is not the only one in the family fighting against climate change, two of his 4 children, Blue and Lazer, have become famous climate activists, for leading multiple protests in the English capital. Specifically, his daughter Blue is known as "The British Greta Thunberg", a nickname that his father is very proud of.
