Test: Culote Assos Equipe RSR Superléger S9

This Autumn-Winter Season Assos has presented its new collection of Cyclist Clothing Superléger.This line is characterized, as its name indicates, for offering very light and breathable garments.
Formed by four proposals -a short culotte with straps, a short -sleeved inner shirt, socks and dolls -this new range is indicated both to practice indoor cycling in the coldest months of the year, and to roll outdoors during the outdoors during thehottest days.
The star clothing garment in this collection is undoubted.To learn more about its characteristics, we have tried this winter on the roller.
The meteorology of these months is not obviously adequate to be able to verify its outdoor benefits, but its interior performance gives a good sample of what its abroad is in high temperatures conditions.
Featherweight
The first thing we must highlight from the Assos Equipe RSR Superléger S9 is its lightness.Our test unit in size L has shown a weight on the scale of only 133 grams.This spectacular figure is the lowest we remember in a short culot with braces.
The Switzerland has achieved this feat thanks to the use of very light materials in making this model.Breezer Texer tissue with grid structure stands out among them, which we find in the main butterfly -shaped panel that covers the legs and part of the back.
Ossidia tissue used in the rest of the rear and frontal panel is more consistent to offer adequate support and stability, but it is also light.The external, elastic but firm straps, also contribute to keeping the weight at bay.
Another very important element that explains the virtues of culote is the Badana RS Superléger, an evolution of even lighter equipe rs.If in other previous models of Assos that we have tried recently, such as the Mille Gto C2 or the Mille GT GTS, we commented that the Badana was somewhat thick, in the Equipa RSR Superléger S9 the opposite occurs, since it is quite fine but equally comfortable.
Breathable and comfortable
The use of these materials has not only allowed the Helvetic brand to maximize the weight of this culote, but also make it very breathable.When pedaling at home on a roller or home trainer, sweating is usually high and it is important that our clothes do not accumulate moisture, but expel it outward so that it evaporates and keep the skin as dry as possible.
The Equipa RSR Superléger S9 achieves this with a high indoor note, so we are sure that outdoor, with the help of air and the sun, it will happen much faster even faster.And being so fine, the culote cannot be soaked in sweat.
Of this model we also liked its great comfort.It is almost like a second skin not only for its tissues so thin and soft to touch, but also because of its anatomical construction, which follows the sports line of the gene generation S9 of Assos.
Details such as flat seams, the use of tissue without hem.Thanks to them, the Equipa RSR Superléger S9 is stable without excessive pressure at any point, making the transition from culot to the skin almost invaluable.
Summary
Available only in black and six sizes (from XS to XLG), this short culot with men's braces is undoubtedly very useful to train at home about rollers and home trainers.Application lovers such as Zwift, Trainerroad, Rouvy, Bkool or Tacx will find it especially practical.Anyway, as we have explained, when summer arrives it will also be helpful to give everything on the bicycle under the scorching sun.
Little negative can be blamed for the Equipe RSR Superléger S9.Since it is logical, being finer than a standard culotte is also more delicate.Therefore, you have to take special care both when putting it on and taking it off, and when washing it.And as with a premium brand such as Assos, its price (250 euros) is higher than other alternatives, although none reaches the levels of excellence of this special model so special.
